The property market in London moves quickly and it’s difficult to understand why these properties aren’t being snapped up.

Have you ever heard the saying: eat with your eyes first?

Obviously, we’re not saying buying dinner and buying a property are the same, but similar in the way that you would like to see something appealing to the eye before you tuck in, or indeed click on the Rightmove listing to view the full details.

As buyers and tenants browse quickly through many sources when researching their next property, it’s key to try and grab their attention by showcasing a property’s best features in an easy to consume and eye-catching way.

You cannot expect a property with awful marketing photos and a less-than-interesting property description to make the phone ring.

In fact, we’ll go one stage further - when you’re PAYING a PROFESSIONAL estate agent to sell or let your property you should expect a bit more than some pictures taken on an iPhone or ‘the office camera’.

However, its not all down to the agent, so here’s a few ways in which sellers and landlords can help: Remember, getting a buyer through the door to view your property is key, once you’ve done that you’re halfway there!
- Clean your house before the photographer comes around.
- De-clutter. Please, please, de-clutter!
- Make up the beds (although it may have worked for Tracey Emin, we assure you it won’t work for you.)
- Remove animals – dog, cat or otherwise!
