Designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill the ‘corkscrew’ effect of the tower is due to the elliptical design of each floor and its cantilevered balconies. The 45-story, 450 ft building comprises 366 residential units in a mix of layouts and configurations, from studio suites to one, two, three and four bedroom apartments. All units benefit from a balcony.

Residents of Baltimore Tower will have direct lower level access to ‘The Club’, located immediately below and adjacent, within the Baltimore Wharf building. According to the developers Galliard, the complex is the largest residential gym and leisure facility in London. The Club is currently being expanded, and when complete will comprise a 25 metre pool, cardio suite, boxing area and equipment, basketball court, climbing apparatus, steam room, sauna, spa pool and an ice fountain (which we’re intrigued to see!)

At levels 43 to 45, the Tower features a split level brasserie, bar and restaurant providing a fabulous setting for a drink, snack, lunch or dinner overlooking Canary Wharf’s iconic skyline. Residents will also have an exclusive private lounge and large screen cinema room at lower level.

Why would I want to live in Baltimore Tower?

Firstly, although perhaps not most importantly, it looks pretty cool! Plus every apartment benefits from a balcony, the vast majority of apartments will have some kind of water view, and units on the upper floors will have great views over the Thames, as well as most of London!. The Club is a pretty comprehensive leisure facility, and (we do think most importantly), our favourite Chinese restaurant in E14 is downstairs floating in the dock in front of you. We love The Lotus. With Crossharbour DLR just being around the corner, transport links are good too. And did we mention that Canary Wharf is just up the road?
