If you’re looking for a venue for a classy night out, or just a place for casual drink with mates, E14 has more to offer than some might think - from local pubs to elegant cocktail bars with some of the best views in London. Check out the five bars below that we at Proper Local recommend.

“Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker so work hard and party harder! “

Pepper Saint Ontiod
Won’t break the bank £
If you’re looking for a more casual venue Pepper Saint Ontiod is the place for you; whether it be a quiet daytime pint, Friday/Saturday night out with the boys or girls, or Sunday lunch. The un-Canary-Wharf-like décor is a jumble of old wallpaper, chintzy furniture and random odds and ends dotted around the place.

It's certainly not unwelcome, this is the Isle of Dogs, where nearly all other venues are clinical and uncluttered. Here you'll be well serviced by the beers — a fine spread across draught and keg, with a number of unusual options. Whilst there’s also a pool table and table football upstairs. The brightly litter upper floor has a jolly nice balcony view over the Millwall Dock, framed by the gunmetal-grey cranes that line its quays.

The Attic at Pan Peninsula
Splash the Cash £££
A cocktail at the Attic bar is a truly unique experience. This luxurious cocktail and champagne bar resides on the 48th floor of Pan Peninsula, Canary Wharf. With breath-taking views of London it’s perfect for networking evenings, after show parties, business lunches, Christmas parties or client entertaining.

The Parlour
Happily Affordable ££
The parlour, located in the park pavilion on Canada square, Canary Wharf, is an all-day bar with style, substance and great for food. But, what we like the most is the secret garden-inspired lounge with awesome cocktail. A stunning alfresco terrace, complete with its own bar provides the perfect playpen for those wanting to soak up the sun.

28West
Happily Affordable ££
Located on Canary Wharf’s Thames riverfront, 28West is the perfect venue for every occasion. The décor is cool and quirky bar and is the ideal setting for a round of drinks after a busy day at the office. Not just good for cocktails they have a cracking selection of world beers too with amazing Happy Hour deals running daily! “Winning”

Rum & Sugar
Happily Affordable ££
Situated at Museum of London Docklands in a Grade I listed warehouse, Rum & Sugar takes its name, and much of its style, from its original function as a rum and sugar store. The story of this District’s colourful past, and the origins of the rum & sugar trade in London, are kept alive through a British menu bursting with flavour and one of London’s most extensive selections of rum. With a selection of Rum, Beer and Cocktails and Thursdays and Fridays: Resident DJ until 1am it’s the perfect place to shake a leg.
