When we created Proper Local we thought long and hard about our business model and how we could offer something new and refreshing, but one of the absolute fundamentals was only dealing with geographical areas which we actually, really, truly know about.

The owner, Christian, has lived in East London for 20 years, so he’s most certainly a proper local, but East London is a big place!

There’s a mighty difference between Chingford and Clerkenwell, and equally Canary Wharf and Leytonstone share more differences than similarities.

So, where is local, for Proper Local?

 The office is located at 40 Bank Street, just next to Canary Wharf station so we most certainly deal with Canary Wharf property and E14.

We also deal with E1 – whether that’s Whitechapel, Wapping, Aldgate, Stepney or Shadwell. Then there’s E3 – Mile End, Bow & Fish Island – E2 – Shoreditch & Bethnal Green – and finally E16 – Royal Docks and the surrounding area - which is rapidly becoming a kind of Canary Wharf-lite.

Would we deal with areas other than these, yes possibly, but only if we can honestly, really, truly say to you that we know that area, and therefore what we’re talking about.

Regardless of where in East London property is you can always be assured of this though…

Fixed fees for selling, letting or property management. Low tenant fees. And, most importantly, a really crazy concept for an estate agency… we care, we really do!
